Choosing the Right Frames

Buying glasses should be enjoyable—not stressful.

If you've searched online, you've probably seen countless articles telling you which frame shape you are "supposed" to wear based on the shape of your face. While those guides can be interesting, they often make choosing glasses seem far more complicated than it needs to be.

At BSE, we believe something much simpler.

The best pair of glasses is the one you enjoy wearing.

Should I choose glasses based on my face shape?

Face shape guides can be a helpful starting point.

They may introduce you to styles you had not considered before or help narrow your choices if you are feeling overwhelmed.

But they are only suggestions—not rules.

There is no scientific formula that determines which glasses you must wear.

Why there isn't one "correct" frame

Think about how many different frame styles exist today.

If there were only one correct style for each face shape, eyewear companies would only need to make a handful of frames.

Instead, there are hundreds.

Why?

Because people are different.

Some people love bold, oversized frames.

Others prefer something simple and understated.

Some want a classic look.

Others enjoy trying something modern or unique.

The frame that feels right to one person may not feel right to someone else—even if they have the exact same face shape.

Start with what you like

Instead of worrying about whether a chart says a frame is "right," start with a much simpler question.

Do I like how these look on me?

If the answer is yes, you are already headed in the right direction.

Your glasses are something you wear every day. They should reflect your personal style and make you feel confident every time you put them on.

Comfort matters just as much

A great-looking pair of glasses should also feel comfortable.

Your frames should:

  • Sit comfortably on your face.
  • Stay in place during normal daily activities.
  • Feel balanced without unnecessary pressure.
  • Be comfortable enough that you forget you are wearing them.

If they are constantly sliding, pinching, or distracting you, they probably are not the right fit.

Don't be afraid to try something different

Many people are surprised by the frames they end up loving.

A style that doesn't stand out when it is sitting on a shelf can look completely different once it is on your face.

Sometimes the perfect pair is the one you almost skipped.

That is one reason shopping online can be enjoyable—you have the opportunity to explore styles you might never have picked in a traditional store.

Our philosophy

At BSE, we believe choosing glasses comes down to three simple questions.

  • Do you love how they look?
  • Do they feel comfortable?
  • Do they help you see clearly?

Those three questions are the foundation of our Form • Fit • Focus Promise.

If all three are right, you have found a pair you will enjoy wearing.

The Bottom Line

Face shape guides can be helpful, but they should never make you feel limited.

There is no single "correct" pair of glasses for your face.

The right pair is the one that makes you feel comfortable, confident, and happy every time you put them on.

That is the experience we want every BSE customer to have.
